This was taken at one of last year's fly-ins, one we dubbed G-cubed, the Great Gathering of Grasshoppers. For the uninitiated, this refers to the Taylorcraft L-2, Aeronca L-3, and Piper L-4 "Grasshopper" liason aircraft flown during the 1940s. These aircraft in the photo are obviously not "Grasshoppers", but they are liason aircraft. I give you a three-ship formation of Stinson L-5 "Sentinels" beating up the field at Propwash Airport (16XS). This is one of my favorite photos (photo by me, obviously).
